Move-a-Thon

Fundraising drive

From March 31 to April 30, 2025, our 17 SESSFA schools joined together in an effort to raise $500,000 for the milestone 5th annual Move-a-Thon fundraising drive. More than 6,700 Southeast Seattle elementary and middle school students were in on the action as each SESSFA school got moving with its own Move-a-Thon fundraising event! As we tally our final fundraising total for the 2025 Move-a-Thon drive, we're grateful for the outpouring of support from donors and sponsors within and beyond our South Seattle neighborhoods who helped our SESSFA schools make incredible strides towards our joint goal.

Also in 2023, Southeast Seattle's two middle schools joined SESSFA, bringing the alliance to 17 schools encompassing all elementary, K-8, and middle schools in SPS District 7.
2022
For our 2nd annual Move-a-Thon in 2022, SESSFA expanded to include 15 schools as three additional Southeast Seattle elementary schools joined the alliance. Bonus: SESSFA was thrilled to have Seattle Storm player Mercedes Russell send in a video demonstration of a jump squat—watch to learn, then try it at home!
2021
In the spring of 2021, 12 Southeast Seattle PTAs and PTOs joined together for the inaugural SESSFA Move-a-Thon. See some of our Southeast Seattle students and educators engaging with SESSFA's exciting new model of community building and FUNdraising.
